Qualifications
Becky is a qualified English teacher of 11-18 year olds and holds a Master’s degree in Education (with distinction), an English Language Bachelor’s degree and an English Literature and Creative Writing Bachelor’s degree. She was previously an examiner for one of England’s leading exam boards.
Becky enjoys the challenge of writing about numbers for The Calculator Site. Her linguistics past gives her a special interest in the origins of mathematical terminology, and how units and labels vary by national variety of English.
As well as writing for The Calculator Site, Becky has also written articles for AudioPi and Business Insider.
Away from work
Becky lives in Edinburgh with her husband, child, cat and dog (which sounds so simple that they may as well be lined up outside a square house drawn in crayon, with a triangle roof and a plume of smoke billowing from the chimney).
